Inventory

Are the books original (non-counterfeit and reprinted)?

Yes! Folktales Books is all for supporting authors' craft and genius. We can assure that all the books listed on our website are original and are directly sourced from the US and UK. We will never sell any counterfeit or reprinted books.

Are the books on the site on-hand?

All books are on-hand unless stated otherwise. We have temporarily paused our pre-orders. More information will be shared when we bring it back!

Why are books sold at a more affordable price than bookstores?

The books sold on our website are a mixture of brand new and remaindered titles. There are three reasons why these books are priced lesser than other big-named local bookstores:

  • Most of our brand new books are directly sourced from UK publishers, which are more affordable than the ones published in the US. 
  • We purchase inventory in larger quantities to score the best deals
  • Remaindered titles* are often sold at a much cheaper price and this comprises at least 50% of our current inventory.

* Remaindered titles are publisher overruns and are 100% original. However, please take note that some books might have a small dot or line on the edge or there may be some very minor wear and tear (like a bent page).  Some books might even have a sticker on the outside cover, but all our books are in great reading condition.

Payments

Which payment methods do you accept?

We accept GCash, Maya, and card payments thru PayMongo as well as PayPal. Note: All payments from non-Philippine issued cards will be charged an additional 1% cross-border fee. 

Do you have COD?

As of right now, Folktales Books does not have COD as a mode of payment. 

 

Shipping and Tracking

Who are your shipping partners and how much?

We ship orders nationwide via Flash Express. Please check if your delivery address is included in their serviceable areas before placing your order. If you are not sure, please contact us!

Shipping rates will also be based on their current rates. Delivery transit times will depend on their usual transit times. Since all orders are shipped from Davao City, please check with them regarding their rates and shipping timeframe.

When will I receive my orders?

All orders are typically processed and dispatched within 3-5 business days (excluding weekends and public holidays). You will receive a notification along with the tracking information once your order has been picked up by our shipping partners.

How do I know the status of my order?

Tracking information will be sent to your email address, so we recommend creating an account when you place your order. Tracking information will also be available on your account's Order History. If you need help tracking your orders, please don't hesitate to reach out to us via Facebook Messenger (@folktalesph)!

Do you have free shipping?

We will offer nationwide free shipping vouchers from time to time, depending on the promotion.

However, shipping is FREE for all orders within Davao City (city proper only) through Flash Express. Please use code DVOFREE upon checkout. We will be checking all orders who will use this code. Should we see non-eligible orders, shipping fee will be invoiced separately.

 

Cancellations

Can I cancel my order?

Any cancellation requests must be submitted within 24 hours of the time of purchase through these channels (you must indicate the order number and/or your email address):

What if I don't send a cancellation request within 24 hours?

After that time frame has passed, Folktales Books does not accept cancellation requests for purchases already made at any time.

How long will requests be reviewed and how soon can I get the refund?

For all qualified requests, please wait for a response from our team. Once your request is approved, refunds processing will vary based on the mode of payment used (as dictated by our payment processing partner):

Credit/Debit Card (Visa/Mastercard) 30 days

Refunds, Returns, Replacements, and Exchanges

Do you accept returns, replacements, or exchanges?

Folktales Books does not accept any returns, replacements, or exchanges.

What should I do if my books arrived damaged?

We highly encourage you to film your unboxing so it can serve as a proof when you encounter an issue with your package. Any damages caused by blade tears during unboxing will automatically disqualify you for refund request.

Am I going to be refunded on the payment method I used?

Refunds will be handled on a case-by-case basis. However, all refunds will be made through store credit which you can use for any future orders on our website.
